President Obama is urging moms in the US to get a college degree so that you can get ahead in life and take control of your own financial future.

He is in fact telling millions of Americans to apply for federal educational funding, but his focus at the moment is actually on single mothers. The Obama “moms return to school” government grant scholarship program consists of the Pell Grant as well as a number of other lesser known scholarship and grant programs.

Why Get a College Degree?
As a mom you lead a busy and full life, but are you satisfied? Do you feel that you have reached your own personal potential?

Unfortunately most women give up any thought of going to college once they have kids. But this does not have to be you; you can simply study with online education and get your degree from home. What are the benefits of being educated?

3. You will feel a great sense of achievement and accomplishment.

People have a great respect and awe for those with a university or college degree. Single moms might be busy, but that certainly doesn’t mean that you can’t fit school in, particularly with online learning that allows you to study and complete projects from your home at a time that suits you.

The Pell Grant is just one of the government initiatives that you can apply for to get up to $5000 or even more for your college education.
